Hi! I’m Perri (or @66PerriStreet — yes, like where Carrie Bradshaw lives).
I write about what interests me. That means I’ve covered everything from interviewing Dave Matthews and DMB fans for the New York Times to exploring the pros and cons of physical books vs. Kindles for the Wall Street Journal. You can see my most recently published articles here. I was the no. 1 most viewed journalist on Muck Rack in 2023, 2022, and 2021 (I give tips on pitching journalists in this Q&A with Muck Rack.)
I’m proud to be a native Manhattan-ite and lucky to have spent time growing up far from Gotham’s madding crowd in the Catskills. After graduating from Columbia University with a B.A. in psychology, I’ve held a variety of staff roles, the most recent being a senior staff writer at Southern Living. I’m currently a freelance writer for publications like the New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, Travel & Leisure, Business Insider, Men’s Journal, Architectural Digest, TODAY.com, and others; I also am a freelance editor for Tripadvisor and recently wrapped writing Real Simple’s ecommerce newsletter thrice weekly. Though I prefer the pen or keyboard to a chef’s hat, I’m a culinary school grad of Natural Gourmet Institute’s chef’s training program and I’ve worked for Mark Bittman as a writer on his cookbooks team, as well as serving as his digital and social media editor.
Additionally, I teach PR pros and companies how to knock it out of the park; so reach out at the email below if you would like to learn more. To round it all out, I offer editorial services for corporate clients including blog posts, product descriptions, and video scripts.
If you’d like to talk about writing or editing opportunities or have an extra pair of tickets to a Dave Matthews Band concert, feel free to get in touch at [email protected].
Oh! Got a good book rec? Here’s what I’m reading, and I’m all ears for your suggestions.
